Payment methods

I accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, UnionPay)

  • Apple Pay

  • PayPal

Production times

Since I make all pencils and pencil-related items to order, production times can vary depending on demand. Very roughly, I would advise 3-4 weeks, but it might be less. If you need something in a hurry, please email to ask.

Shipping costs & delivery times

I send to the UK and worldwide using fully tracked Royal Mail services:

  • UK: Cost £6. I use Royal Mail Tracked 24. This usually arrives next working day.

  • Worldwide: Cost £10. I use Royal Mail International Tracked. This usually takes around 7-10 working days, but can vary depending on country and time of year.

If you need something delivered faster, I can use UPS, but this is more expensive. Please email me if this is something you need.

Custom orders & engraving

For an additional fee, I am usually able to do custom orders (e.g. modifications to standard designs, different materials, or designs not shown as standard on my website) and also laser engraving of names, logos etc. Please email me and I’ll see if I can help.

Returns

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase and would like to return it for any reason, please email to let me know and I will be happy to either refund or exchange the item as you wish. Please note that, unless the return is because of a defect with the item, the cost of the return shipping will be your responsibility.

The “Consumer Contracts Regulations” allows you to return a purchase within 14 days of receiving the item. However, I am always flexible in accomodating a customer’s requirements at a later date if necessary. I only mention 14 days to satisfy those who believe that prescriptive legalese is a substitute for proper customer relations!

Please note - because of the unique nature of custom orders, they are generally not eligible for returns.

Import fees

Please be aware that the customs authorities in your own country may decide to charge you additional import fees (e.g. duty, VAT, handling charges etc.) before they will deliver your package. I have absolutely no control over this and can’t advise on what these fees might be.

Warranty

All products manufactured by IJ Instruments Ltd. carry a one-year warranty, commencing from the date of purchase, against any manufacturing defects. Should any faults arise within the warranty period, IJ Instruments Ltd. will replace the defective product free of charge. Any unauthorised modifications to a product or misuse will void any warranty still in effect.

EU Withdrawal Request

For use only by EU customers with an existing order who wish to exercise right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2023/2673.
